WOYWW 235!

Hi everyone!!  This time of year is such a rush...but I wanted to be here and catch up with you :-).  How's the Christmas shopping going????  Ha mine is still VERY slowly lol!!
Okay to business... here is my desk shot for this week :-)
I have bought another daylight lamp as it was 50% off and now I have plenty of light in my black hole of Calcutta art area!
A selection of goodies that I have bought over the last 2 weeks....I seem to buy 1 Xmas gift and then one for me hehe...what a wonderful addiction I have!!  I ordered Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's book on making your own stamps from the Book Depository in the UK last month and it is supposed to be winging it's way here, but I haven't got it yet :-(.  But when I do I will be trying to carve some stamps..trying being the operative word ;-) really looking forward to it.
This is the canvas that was on my desk a couple of weeks ago that a few of you asked about. Lots of texture!
Last but not least a quick drawing/painting of my beautiful granddaughter :-).  I used my new Neocolor II's and I have to say that I LOVE them and will have to get some more...this addiction is leading me by the nose lol...but having such a wonderful time!
Now off to see Julia over at Stamping Ground and say hi to her and to as many of you as I can.  Have a wonderful week!!

Oh my WOYWW 233!

Hi everyone!!  I have been MIA for a couple of weeks, nothing wrong...just life rushing at a 100 miles an hour lol :-).  I hope that all of you are well and have had a great couple of weeks and have had fun Christmas shopping!!  I have only a few things and that is so unlike me as I usually have things well in hand by now....I will get a move on in the next couple of weeks...I hope!
Here is my desk for this week...
I am working on a canvas and using lots of different paints, inks, watercolours, Gelatos etc and loving how it is coming together.  I have to say that I am having a love affair with moulding paste...wow so good for adding texture :-).
Next are a few pictures of what I have been up to over the last couple of weeks...

The first photo is a mixed media canvas, and the next an art journal page that I decided to be a bit different with and the next is a background that I haven't put any words on yet.  For some reason all I can come up with when I look at this page is...calm calm got to stay calm lol.  The next photo is using some left over acrylic paint that I scraped across the 2 pages and Dylusions Inks and this is what came out of it....interesting!!
Leaving you with a piccy of what I have just bought to feed my addiction hehehe.  Have a wonderful week and now I am off to Julia's blog Stamping Ground to go and visit some of you wonderful crafty artists :-).

WOYWW 229!!

Hello everyone!!  This week has flown AGAIN holy molly it is going to be Christmas tomorrow!!  I have not gotten much of a chance to let loose with art journaling this week but I do have a couple of photos to show you.  I cleaned up my art/craft area and even recycled things from the shed to use as shelves...it may not look pretty but it works :-)!  I even took my computer chair out as it was to big for the area and I just kept running into it....so I put the 2 stools in and I can shove them under the desk.  Seems to work well....at the moment :-).
This is my desk this week and the following photos are the neat and tidy lol!!

It feels good to be working in  a much more workable space and have a place to put things!
This next photo is a page that I finished on Monday and again using journaling as a way of letting out emotions.
I am demonstrating at my local craft store this Saturday as Michelle is having a product day and I am really looking forward to showing people how to use some of the wonderful products that I use...what fun hehehe!
I hope you all are having and will have a wonderful week, and now I am off to Julia's at Stamping Ground to have a look at the wonderful world of art/craft desks from around the world!!

WOW 228!!

Where has the time gone?????  Hi everyone, I have missed a couple of weeks...life it gets in the way! I haven't got a desk photo today, but it looks the same as the others desk photos that I have put up lol!  Nothing changes sometimes...but it is a happy mess :-).  Julia has gone away I see, and has posted early...good on her for getting away.  Pop on over to her site and join in the hop around the world peeking at all the crafty arty desks at Stamping Ground

I have some photos to show....and here they are... tadaaa...

This is what I taught the girls to do at the last art journal class using the Gelli Plate.  I saw a YouTube video on the Gelli Arts channel showing how you can make your own beautiful tape using the Gelli Plate.....so I did and thought wow I have to show the girls...and I did...and they thought it was great!!  So do I hehe.  Such great tips out there in the www!!!

These next 2 photos are pages that I have done over the last couple of weeks and this is what art journaling is all about....letting out the emotions that sometimes get to much for you.  I released a lot of negative and upsetting emotions and was able to handle things a lot better. To say that this form of art has helped me greatly over the last year...then the answer is a resounding YES!
This last photo is the canvas that I did for the kids holiday class, and we all had a great time!!  The kids can come up with some great ideas and colour combinations lol!

I hope you all have a wonderful week and hopefully I will see you again next week.  Now off to visit some desks....yep big cup of tea in hand :-).

WOYWW 225!

Wow has this week gone quickly!!  I hope that you all have had a good and crafty week :-)!!  I have managed to do some backgrounds but haven't actually finished a page....ahhhh.  I seem to have a bit of a mental block with wording.  But I am happy with the backgrounds.  This is going to be a really quick post for me as it is school holidays here in good ole' Aussie land and my youngest daughter is at me to get Macca's for lunch!
Okay here is my desk photo.......
These are the 2 latest backgrounds in my journal.  Just behind are 2 dies that I had ordered and pick up from my local craft store this morning.  Looking forward to playing with them this afternoon.  I must say I LOVE all of Tim Holtz's dies, this one is his Alterations Tattered Garland decorative strip die and the other one is Sizzix Bigz die Albany Rose.
Well that is it for me today!!  I know hard to believe right .... as I am such a talker hehe!
Thank you Julia at Stamping Ground for creating WOYWW it is a wonderful chance to catch up with like minded fantastic people around the world!!  Have a terrific week everyone, now I am off to visit other blogs......ohh... after I get the Macca's or my life will not be worth living lol :-)!!

WOYWW 224!!

Hello everyone!!  I missed last week as I had to look after the grandchildren and they certainly keep me on my toes lol!  But they are great kids and I just love them to bits :-).  Looking forward to early November when number 3 grandchild is born...... Where have the years gone as I don't feel old enough to be a grandmother!!
This is my photo this week of my desk.....
I bought a couple of things this morning after I dropped one daughter off at work and the other at school and called in at the craft shop.  I had left my heat gun there from Friday's art journal class, and of course Michelle had gotten some new things in......not good for my art supply addiction hehe.  The girl stamp is for the children's class that I will be teaching during the schools holidays and the stencil, well I just liked it and the paper doilies will look great on an art journal page or a canvas and last but not least I just fell in love with the stamped words and I can see that they will get a lot of use.  In case you are wondering what is hanging off my desk...it is magic tape that I used as a mask with the Gelli Plate and I left it to dry and have used it on an art journal page which is not quite finished yet so will show you next week.  Also the pink shoe which some of you asked about a couple of weeks ago, holds the magic tape.  It was at my local Post Office and it just tickled my fancy :-).

These 2 photos are the samples for the class that I had last Friday.  The girls have a choice of doing a journal page or a canvas.  I didn't put any words on them this time as I felt that the girls could choice to do so if they wanted.  It was a great time and we went well over time!!  But the girls got to finish their pieces and I have to say that they did a wonderful job on them, I was so proud as it is great to see them accomplish something that they felt that they could not do and have it turn out so well!!
I am going to pop over to Julia's at Stamping Ground and check out some of the wonderful desks from around the world...hope you can join me.

Have a fantastic week :-)

In the background are the long Cuttlebug plates that arrived at the craft shop today and I just had to get them on my way to work hehe, so will play with them shortly :-).
This is a page that I have been working on the last couple of days....

WOYWW 221

WOW where has the last week gone???!!!!  I feel like Christmas is next week and I have to hurry and get things done lol!!

The class I taught last Friday went really well and I have to say I love doing them and the ladies that come are just wonderful and eager to learn new things.  I tell them that we learn together :-).

This is my desk for this week....
I have a very messy desk this week....who am I kidding I ALWAYS have a messy desk lol!!  I have been practicing with the pan pastels, I must say that I think I will love these!!  Also on the desk are a couple of Tim Holtz alphabet die strips as I am sick of buying alphabets stickers, rub ons etc so I thought that these would be great and I can make my own.  Well now I have to get the longer plates for the Cuttlebug that my cousin left me as the normal plates are not long enough and I don't feel like turning them around all the time.  So the longer plates are an investment I say, and I can use more then one embossing folder at a time, that is how I justify spending the money hehehe!

Also on the desk are the start of the next class, using some Prima wood embellishments and some lovely scrapbook paper and I am going to create a forest scene for an art journal page and a canvas as well. It will be fun and I will show the finished product in the next couple of weeks.

Michelle from my local craft store rang to let me know that Dyan Reavely's new jumbo ink spray pads and mini journal had arrived that I had ordered.  Of course I had to go straight away and get them lol....I am such and art supply junkie...oh heaven help me!!
I LOVE the pads and I have one for the warm and cold coloured inks and what fun I have been having.  I decided to use the mini journal straight away and did a tribute for to my late husband Steve. I love putting my feelings on paper in pictures, VERY therapeutic.

My beautiful grandchildren have arrived to spend a couple of hours with Nanna, so until next week, have much fun and lots of love in your life :-).  I have to say a big thank you to Julia over at Stamping Ground for letting us all join in for the WOYWW!!

WOW WOYWW 220 Already!!

Hi everyone! Just a quick one today as I have been busy and tired hehe, but aren't we all at times :-).  I had a great day taking a special friend out to lunch for her birthday and now I am waddling around as I ate too much!!  But the food was sooooo good.
Here is a picture of my desk with some goodies that I have gotten over the last week or so, there is more that I got today....but I have already taken the photo

What fun I am going to have with all of these goodies!!  The next photos are what I am doing in the next art journal class this Friday and we are using the Faber-Castell Gelatos.  It was fun to make up the samples using only Gelatos so that the class can see a range of things that they can do.

The marker pen that was used was a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen, which I found the best to write over the Gelatos.
The next photos are art journal pages that I have completed over the last couple of days and had sooo much fun doing them. I feel the creative fire in my belly and it just wants to get out and I want to ignore everything else and just create journal pages and mult-media canvases lol!

I hope everyone has a great week, and now I am off to look at some more desks hehe, opps got to make my cup of tea first!  Loved looking at Julia Dunnits photos over at Stamping Ground were we all go to link and see the craft/arts desks of the world...what a way to travel..love it :-)!! Sorry guys I really thought... that it would be a quick post, must be making up for not being here last week lol!

WOYWW 218.....

Hello Everyone, I am sorry that I wasn't around last week but my beautiful cousin Jen, passed away Friday night 26 July.  I was only talking with her on Thursday afternoon, ( I talked with her everyday) and she was saying that she should be out of hospital on Saturday.  I didn't let on that I was coming to see her on Saturday as I wanted it to be a surprise.  I wish now I had told her I was coming as she told another friend that she couldn't wait for me to come and visit again.  Around 4pm on the Friday I was told that Jen had lapsed into unconsciousness  and wasn't expected to live through the night.

It was a tough time as you can imagine for all her family and friends, especially as we thought, as Jen did too, that we had more time.  You just never know.  A part of my heart left with Jen when she passed away.  Here is the last picture taken of one of the most special woman that I have ever had the privilege to know, and myself.

My cousin wanted me to take her craft supplies as she felt that it would have a good home with me as she felt that a part of her will be with me when I work with them, as I love crafting as much as she did.  Oh what fun times we had card making and art journaling together.. I will miss her everyday.

Here is a picture of my craft area now incorporating Jen's wonderful supplies now all mingled up with mine and I have a little photo up so that along with my late husband she can watch over me while I art journal.

The mixed media canvas is a gift for my sister, who has been an incredible support for me and drove me the 5 hours home the day after the funeral. I am so blessed that some of my family are just not only my family but also my closest friends too.

This canvas came to life by its self, it tells the story that life can have some horrible parts, but some  great beauty as well, we just have to hope and learn to embrace what is thrown at us and bloom out of all the chaos.

I wish you all a wonderful week surrounded by all your loved ones....

I am going over to our lovely leader Julia Dunnit over at Stamping Ground and check out some wonderful desks.  Big cuppa in hand and I am off  :-).

Wednesday 24 July 2013

Good Grief is it WOYWW 216??? I have been away tooo long!

Hello Everyone!!  I am sorry that I haven't been up and running so to speak on my blog...grrrr, life has a way of getting in the road and don't you agree that this year is just zipping along at the speed of light??? I don't know if I am Arthur or Martha of late lol.

I had a great week with my cousin, we managed to get out a bit with  her in the wheelchair and me and my bad back.  We were hilarious together, I kept running her into things as I only have my L's driving the wheelchair and I needed the wheelchair to walk as far as we did to hold me up!  We kept laughing that we are two broken down chubby ladies (although we didn't put it quite so delicately as I have done here lol) that needed to help each other to get anywhere!!

I am sad to say that she is in hospital again, and she said that she feels that she is at the pointy end of the stick now, and God love her she was comforting me!!  She is truly one of God's angels.

I have a photo of my VERY messy desk this week and I REALLY do need to do something about it as I am starting to lose things....hmmmm not good!!

The rest of the photos are some art journaling that I have done while at my cousins and a couple of mixed media canvas's that I have done for classes that I am teaching.

Thanks to the wonderful Julia Dunnit over at Stamping Ground, I am off to look at some of the great desks that I have missed seeing over the last month....Huge cup of tea next to me and off I go :-)!  Have a great week everyone!!

WOYWW211!!!

Hello Everyone again!! Where has this week gone lol!  This won't be a long post as I am trying to get lots of things done before I go to see my cousin for a week on Friday.  So without further ado..:-)...here is my desk this week!

I have been working on some backgrounds that I had in my Dyan Reaveley art journal and just zoning out doing them, what a great way to distress.  My desk hasn't changed much over the weeks, never really tidy hehehe.  The lamp that you can see, the silver looking pole... the light part lifts up and comes on when you do, and it is just wonderful as it is a daylight lamp and now I can see in my little dark corner....yippee, my eyesight thanks me lol!

These next 2 photos.... the first one was a mop up page and when I looked at it I thought to myself that would make a great page, and this is the way it turned out :-).  The next photo are my first attempts with the Gelli plate.  I don't care what anyone thinks it does take a bit to get used to it! But I think that I am going to love using the plate!!

Pop on over to Stamping Ground to check out the wonderful desks from all over the world!!

Okay that is all I have to show.  I hope that you all had a great week and will have an even greater week ahead. Live laugh and love well.  Until next time take care.

WOYWW 210!! I missed a few....

Hi there everyone!!  Sorry that I have been MIA for a while, but I needed a little down time and now I am back hehe.  Not a lot happening but I do have a couple of photos to show you.

First off is my desk for this week....

I am working on a card for my youngest daughter's birthday.....mind you that is today!  But she has already gotten her gift and told me that she wants a card...so I am doing what I am told and making her one.  I didn't think it would bother her not to get one as she has been too busy and excited about the iPad that her father bought for her.  Lesson learnt lol.  On the paper I have placed rock salt and I love the effect that it gives as you will see in the next photo.

It looks like heaps of little daises!!

The next 2 photos are a quick drawing of my granddaughter Andie, which I don't know what I will do with it yet, and the 12"x12"canvas that I have shown on here before but unfinished....well guess what..it is finished now :-).  I am going to show it to the next art journal class that I am teaching on Friday morning and see if they would like to do one in another class.

I thought that I would also show you what we are doing in the next art journal class...

Wish you all a wonderful week, and now I am off to visit some other blogs and see what is on their desks for this week.  Thanks to Julia over at Stamping Ground that we are able to share in this wonderful get together :-).  Take care of yourselves.
