WOYWW 235!

Hi everyone!!  This time of year is such a rush...but I wanted to be here and catch up with you :-).  How's the Christmas shopping going????  Ha mine is still VERY slowly lol!!
Okay to business... here is my desk shot for this week :-)
I have bought another daylight lamp as it was 50% off and now I have plenty of light in my black hole of Calcutta art area!
A selection of goodies that I have bought over the last 2 weeks....I seem to buy 1 Xmas gift and then one for me hehe...what a wonderful addiction I have!!  I ordered Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's book on making your own stamps from the Book Depository in the UK last month and it is supposed to be winging it's way here, but I haven't got it yet :-(.  But when I do I will be trying to carve some stamps..trying being the operative word ;-) really looking forward to it.
This is the canvas that was on my desk a couple of weeks ago that a few of you asked about. Lots of texture!
Last but not least a quick drawing/painting of my beautiful granddaughter :-).  I used my new Neocolor II's and I have to say that I LOVE them and will have to get some more...this addiction is leading me by the nose lol...but having such a wonderful time!
Now off to see Julia over at Stamping Ground and say hi to her and to as many of you as I can.  Have a wonderful week!!

Janene xx

  5. Happy WOYWW. I have nearly bought the book about making your own stamps too. Let us know what you think of it when it arrives. I also want another lamp. My big floor standing one is in the living room permanently now, and my new craft room can be dark. Ali x. #46

  7. Oh Janene, what a wonderful lot of new goodies--a new daylight lamp (what kind did you get? Do you like it? This time of year I really need one, and am shopping around.) And hand carving stamps is so much fun--don't wait for the book, just google up a youtube video and have at a small one, at least.

Such a sweet portrait of your grandgirl, too--what a cutie!

Thank you for stopping by this woyww!

  9. Ooh! I love the idea of one present for someone else and one present for you! Why haven't I thought of that before? I am seriously thinking of getting a daylight lamp, as it is quite dark on the dining table when I work there. I have kind of promised myself one for Christmas along with a proper craft mat! I still don't have one of those. Oh, and carving your own stamps sounds like a great idea! Happy WoYWW! Julie Ann xx #52

  11. Well you are definitely ahead of me on the Christmas Stakes Janene, I haven't even started my shopping.....and sadly my Christmas spirit is no where to be found this year. I am totally loving your canvas and drawing and have only heard good things about the Neo Colors. You will have loads of fun carving your own stamps and the possibilities are endless. So nice to have caught up with everything here this week and thanks so much for your earlier visit to my blog. Danie #25

  15. Hi Janene,
Re. the twinkling H2Os ... I love them, they are great for travelling, being so small. I've had mine for years, although I don't use them all that often, but they are lovely bright colours all with a mica (content) I think, so they really glow. They are great for smallish areas but probably not so efficient for large areas. I guess they are expensive to start with, but, in my opinion, well worth it. Just my two cents worth :)

  17. Hi Janene,

You'll have to give us a book report on Julie's stamp making book. I'm a sucker for books...... oh, and art supplies! My two vices. Your canvas looks amazing - so much texture and love the flowers. The portrait of your granddaughter is lovely. I have the neocolors II and must confess that I haven't used them that much. Not sure what Ros and Julia are referring to above - must check it out.

Thank you so much for visiting me already. I knew it would be late in the week before I could do most of my visiting.

    Happy belated WOYWW
    Peace, Kay (12)

  18. Great desk today, I love canvas! I haven't heard of New Colors, but I do love the H2o's are they similar?? you had referred to my room; My space does have a lot of light and we lined the wall with storage drawers and built a work surface top for them which gives my 9x11 room lots of work space. Storage is also on all the walls in the form of adjustable shelves. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier! Ginny #18
