WOYWW 202

Wow is it 202 already!!  My how time flies.  Hello everybody, I hope that this week has been good to you :-).  I have my brother coming to stay for a few days and I am looking forward to seeing him.  He is 14 years younger to me and has always been a special brother.  He now lives and works in Sydney the capital of NSW here in Australia, and I miss him not calling around at least once a week and having tea with me.  I will have to get to Sydney and visit him as he has the most spectacular view from his balcony over looking the harbour.

I started my new job and I think that I am going to love it!!  Whew that is good to know hehe.  It will be a learning curve but one that I am up for!  The car is going well and I can tell you that I never want to be without it again.....now, I know that walking is good for you, but hey not all the time!!!

This is my desk this week......

If you look closely you can see a little photo of my late husband on the shelf, my eldest daughter found it when she was looking through some photos that I had packed away and put it there when I was not looking.  What a lovely surprise to see him!  So now he is staying on the shelf and watching over my work.  I still think about him every single day and miss him.  The art journal pages that I am working on sitting on the desk, is me wishing that love could kill cancer and that our loved ones never had to deal with this hideous disease!!

The bottom page was done a couple of days ago when I was having a Murphy's Law day and my youngest daughter was not listening to me....so I decided to take it out in my journal and felt soooooo much better after doing this  hehehe!!

Thanks to the wonderful Julia over at Stamping Ground that we are able to enjoy visiting other desks all over the world....what a pleasure and honour to join in this wonderful idea and to everyone allowing others to have a peek at what they do...Thank you!!

Have a great day and  until next time take care :-).  Now off to look at some wonderful desks!

  12. Fab AJ pages. Try tho' I might I simply cannot carry thru with a journal. I like how you use it, for REAL feelings and working things out, rather than some that seem more about the art and while that is often lovely, sometimes it feels ... stilted, I guess, or at least not entirely honest. Like "this is an emotion I am meant to have and it will be a cool page but I am actually detatched from it and just being arty." I like it RAW and REAL. And while I might be happy to do that for ME, I guess I keep that all in my head, for now. But I admire you for sharing it.

    Happy WOYWW

  14. I LOVE your art journaling. Beautiful pages. I tried to make a page after my sister passed away from cancer last November but it was so dark because I was SO angry. Your pages about wishing the power of love would kill all cancer cells really touched me today. Thank you for sharing.

  16. I love the idea of making a journal where you can put your feelings down in such a wonderful way. I can relate to the cancer page, so many in my husband's and my families have died of cancer, and so many of our friends have either lost the battle, or are under going treatment. Cancer is one of the cruelest diseases.

It's only my second WOYWW, so it's the first time I've visited, but i was fun seeing your desk!

  17. I love the way you are using your journal, it can take the anger and frustrations so much better than our children can, AND it never throws it back in your face! LOL Great cancer wish!

  23. Greetings from Alaska- I think this is the first time I've visited (I keep getting distracted by the goregous colors and prints and layers in your background--just yummy). I love that you took out your frustration -- and I mean really took out your frustration in your journal. One day I totally worked through depression and was amazed the difference it made. I'm a believer. So sorry you had to go through losing your husband. It is so difficult. My husband commited suicide 13 years ago...never saw THAT coming. But still when they are gone, it leaves such a big whole. In time things get better and better.
Glad you like your new job...whatever it is. I always post early, so I'll look for you next week. Thanks for stopping by.

  25. Hi Janene,

Oh, I've lost too many loved ones to the dreadful "C" word. If only our love could cure them. Your drawing of your husband is beautiful. So much like his photo. I keep saying that I need to start journaling and you've given me a reason to really start. There must be something so freeing to take what you feel and put it down on paper.

Thanks for visiting me already. It's Friday here and my day off (Congrats on the new job AND liking it) so I'll be blog hopping between laundry, etc.

    Happy WOYWW

  28. I hope you are having a wonderful time with your brother. We want pictures of the view : D. Fabulous pages, I'm glad to see you can put all that angst on paper (better out than in). My condolences on the loss of your husband. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. I'm quite chuffed about the clipboards. Now to see if the vision will match the idea lol. #15
